The Day of Vesak is celebrated by millions of Buddhists around the world in honor of the day in the year 623 B.C. that the Buddha was born, and for some Buddhists, marks his enlightenment (the moment he discovered life's meaning). This year the holiday is celebrated on Friday, May 5th, 2023.
