| According to the VietNow National Headquarters Independent Auditor's Report dated January 9, 2017, the charity received a Qualified Audit Opinion for fiscal 2016. The auditors provided the following Basis for Qualified Opinion: "Contributions were collected by many Agencies for Vietnow National Headquarters. We were unable to obtain sufficient audit evidence about the amount recognized for the contributions collected by the Agencies for Vietnow National Headquarters... We were neither present when plans were established for the collection of such contributions, nor were we present during the actual collections for the year ended June 30, 2016 and 2015. Our examination of contributions received was limited to the amount collected and reported as such to Vietnow National Headquarters. Consequently, we were unable to determine whether any adjustments to those amounts were necessary." According to the VietNow National Headquarters audit of June 30, 2016 (Note 9, Fundraising Receivables and Revenues): "As of June 30, 2016 and 2015, approximately 99% and 99%, respectively, of VietNow's total revenues were generated by professional fundraisers. As of June 30, 2016 and 2015, 100% of the fundraising receivable balances was generated by the professional fundraisers. Funds were solicited from the general public by phone calls made on behalf of VietNow. Under the terms of the agreements with various fundraisers, VietNow receives approximately 8% to 11% of contributions." |
