September Is Hunger Action Month
Food insecurity is
rising in the U.S. as the end of pandemic-era aid and higher food costs burden
low-income Americans, according to data recently released by the U.S. Census
Bureau. Approximately 26.5 million Americans reported occasionally or often not
having enough to eat in June 2023, according to the U.S. Census's latest
Household Pulse Survey. This statistic represents a 12% increase from June
2022.
