|According to the Children, Incorporated (CI) audit of June 30, 2014 and tax filing for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2014:|
CI reports Program Services spending of $2,826,846 for the funding of "supplies and services for impoverished children" in fiscal 2014. Of this $2,826,846, $1,518,480 was provided for children outside of the U.S. and $1,308,366 for children in the U.S. Approximately 59% of the funding for children outside of the U.S. was in the regions of South America (34%) and Central America & the Caribbean (25%).
"... Funding for supplies and services for impoverished children is transferred from the Richmond office [where contributions to CI are received] to the volunteer staff members [at each location that provides program services]. They decide on the supplies and services needed, arrange for them to be provided, and administer disbursement of the funds. The volunteer staff members are required to retain documentation of the disbursements and provide periodic reports to the paid staff members..." (Audit Note A and IRS Form 990 Schedule O).
