Below are select notes that CharityWatch believes may be of interest to donors.

CharityWatch's rating of International Justice Mission (IJM) also includes the financial activities of the affiliates included in the IJM audited consolidated financial statements for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024. In addition to the U.S.-based IJM, the accounts of 4 related entities are included in the IJM 2024 audited consolidated financial statements, according to Note 1, Nature of Activities and Significant Accounting Policies, Principles of Consolidation. These include IJM UK, IJM Canada, IJM Australia, and Oak & Olive, LLC. The LLC "was formed as a  wholly-owned non-profit subsidiary of IJM...Its mission is to help provide consultancy and support services and being engaged in the business of providing consultancy, support services for project delivery, management, learning and evaluation. 

According to the International Justice Mission (IJM) consolidated audit of March 31, 2024 (Note 1, Nature of Activities and Significant Accounting Policies, Contributed nonfinancial assets):

IJM received contributed nonfinancial assets during the fiscal year-ended March 31, 2024, on which it placed a total value of $887,195. These consisted of $415,307 in Pro Bono legal services; $378,816 in "IJM Fellowship Program;" $41,128 in "Fundraising Support;" and $51,944 in "Finance and Administrative Support."

According to the International Justice Mission (IJM) consolidated audit of March 31, 2024 (Note 12, Related Parties):

"IJM has two partner offices: IJM Germany and IJM Netherlands (collectively referred to as International Advancement Offices (IAOs)). The IAOs are independent organizations, governed by independent boards and staffed by national leadership...

...IJM receives support for operations from the IAOs and is also reimbursed for certain expenses by the IAOs. IJM also provides support to the IAOs as support for operations, when necessary. For the year ended March 31, 2024, the net support received from unconsolidated IAOs is as follows:..."

Net support received from International Advancement Offices: $2,494,764 and $1,885,660 was received from IJM Germany and IJM Netherlands, respectively. The total of these two amounts is $4,380,424. 

According to the International Justice Mission (IJM) tax filing for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024, IJM reports re: Compensation, Supplemental Information (IRS Form 990, Schedule J, Part III):

Regarding severance payments to officers, directors, trustees, key employees and highest compensated employees (Schedule J, Part I, Line 4a):

"During the year there was a separation payment of $82,530 made to the Chief People Officer..."

[Past Chief People Officer Tina Atwell's total reported compensation for 2023 amounted to $195,993 during 2023 (IRS Form 990, Schedule J, Part II)].
